Having hope was her weakness.
If Sadie Mullins hadn’t started to believe in love again, hadn’t let herself fall for him, she wouldn’t be feeling this way.
Wouldn’t have her heart breaking.
Wouldn’t regret meeting West Montgomery.
The cocky bastard should have left her alone, let her forget about him.
Let her move on with her life.
Of course, he didn’t.
That could have been the end of it.
Of course, it wasn’t.
Damn hope.
*This is Book 2 in the Water's Edge Series and is a continuation of Sadie and West's story that began in Wet. This is not a standalone.
Soaked The Water Edge Series Book 2 edition by Stacy Kestwick Literature Fiction eBooks
Sadie is done with West. Resolved that he's just used up his last chance to prove himself the kind of man she's been hoping he would, its time to move on, and with her upcoming trip to shoot promotional photos for Grady's new resort just around the corner, it couldn't come at a better time.In the end it doesn't matter if he's got an excuse for his behavior, it doesn't even matter if its a legitimate excuse, since the way their relationship has gone, there has always been the need for excuses, and that's not the kind of relationship she's prepared to settle for. The bottom line is that every time there's something that needs to be excused away ... it hurts, regardless how good the excuse might be after the fact.
This breakup is so very different from the breakup at the beginning of Wet, book one of the Water's Edge series however. Back then despite the upheaval, she was glad to be out, and this time, it hurts so much, because she really wishes that things could have worked out differently.
Soaked by Stacy Kestwick, follows Sadie on her quest to put this latest failed relationship behind her, even as West pulls out all the stops to get her to change her mind. Throw in a handsome stranger, a nightmare from the past, the best of friends and probably too much alcohol and you've got the recipe for a volatile story. Throw Aubrey, West's bitchy ex into the mix and its downright explosive.
I read a lot of stories and very few have major plot twists that catch me completely by surprise but this one did, and as plot twists go, I thought it was clever, timely, worked well with the story and even managed to be somewhat educational without getting preachy. Beyond that, the story was well paced, moving from angsty through funny, awkward, suspenseful, sad, and extremely hot while keeping a hopeful tone throughout. Read through in one sitting and thankfully, no cliffhanger at the end this book had me feeling the joy of life and just warm fuzzies all over
For fans there are plenty of hooks tossed out along the way to be picked up regarding the minor characters setting the scene for other books in the series to pick up on, and I for one am looking forward to see what comes next.

Soaked The Water Edge Series Book 2 edition by Stacy Kestwick Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
This was a bit different than the first one (in that we didn't get to see West for the first half of the book) but it was still unputdownable. (Probably because I was dying to get to West & Sadie interactions!) It was full of even more angst, more surprises, more miscommunication & more hot sex.
Sadie... I loved her salsa dancing with Grady, her revenge on her ex (Thank you, Rue!) & when she finally got it on with West again. I understood that she was hurt because of what Aubrey did & what West didn't do but her running off drove me a lil' batty. The whole Nick/photos thing was a bit weird & the not reading the paper airplanes left me all, "C'mon, Sadie!"
West... I loved how he reached out to Sadie while she was on her work trip, the changes he made to show that he was serious about Sadie & when he FINALLY told Aubrey he was fed up with her crap & to leave him alone. That said, it took him way too long to make sure that Aubrey knew where she truly stood with him. I hated that he even felt an ounce of pity for her at one point. #ugh
Excited to get my hands on Grady & Rue's book! I need to know what secrets he's been hiding. Hopefully we'll get stories for Theo & Hailey too! )
The ending... I honestly felt kinda robbed that Sadie decided to leave the score tied on their air hockey game. I wanted some confirmation on whether or not those "prizes" would indeed be hers that night. I was hoping it'd be a full-out happily ever after but it ended up being more of a happy for now kind of one.
I have been very impatiently waiting for the next installment in this series by Stacy Kestwick. I was entranced and deeply invested in Wet when it ended on a cliffhanger. It left one helluva book hangover that I have never gotten over until now. It was totally worth the wait. Stacy does not disappoint. This is definitely my favorite series. I am a huge fan and will follow Stacy to the ends of the earth. I love West despite where Wet left off. Sadie's journey to self discovery and strength was great in this story. Do yourself a favor and read this series. You will be glad you did. Now I am very impatiently waiting for Hot!
West and Sadie are BACK!!!!!
At the end of Wet we are left like o.O! What in the world is happening?? That ending just wrecked me and I couldn't wait to get my hands on Soaked!!
I'm so glad that I wasn't disappointed and it was definitely worth the wait.
I loved West in both Wet and Soaked; he was determined and, albeit a little slow on the uptake of what being in a relationship means, he was truly a good guy that didn't take any $&!t from anyone - including Sadie. I really loved the way that he didn't just fall to the feet of her but at the same time, he totally worked hard to prove himself.
Sadie has a take no prisoners, once bit twice shy mentality - her heart is guarded and her mind is wide open. She was the definition of determined.
Stacy's writing is spot on and so captivating. She kept me on my toes throughout the entire read, a roller coaster of events that kept me questioning what could happen next.
It was the perfect conclusion to a story I loved!
Congrats on a great sophomore novel, Stacy!
Another amazing book!! I'm not going to say too much, don't want to give anything away!! This book picks up right where Wet left off. And then Sadie goes on her trip to Grand Cayman. And she meets Nick. I think that's all I'm going to say about that. West's airplanes are still in the picture. Sadie's ex pops back up. And then there's good old Aubrey. So it defiantly isn't smooth sailing in this book. So angsty I just loved it!! A very satisfying conclusion to Sadie and West's story, in my opinion. Can't wait for the next in the series!!
